Animal Smiley 036 Traveling to Hawaii

Hello all, I plan on taking my puppy sometime end of this year to Hawaii but I'm having some concerns. Kupo is currently 4 months old. He already had his first rabies shot last month (which will expire in a year). Hawaii, as some may know, is rabies free state. So if I want to visit my familiy over there, Kupo will need to get another rabies shot, (30 days after 1st rabies).

I'm paranoid about possibility of over vaccinating him and making him sick. The thing is that when I first got him, the breeder gave him up until his 2nd puppy shots, but when I went to the vet, the vet wanted to disregard his previous shots and start over... so in total, he had gotten 5 puppy shots, compared to regular 3. He was also given Lepto and bordetella shots, even though it was suggested not to by many YTers, since he needed those shots to be able to travel. I'm also in military family so I thought it's going to be better to be prepared to take him wherever I need him to.

Do you think it's going to be fine if he gets another rabies shot only 30 days after? With all these previous shots?

Also, From where I am at, fastest flight time is about 11 hrs, and I know that pets are NOT allowed in cabin with me. How should I deal with this later? I never had to deal with this before so I'm not sure what to expect. Will he need some kinda calming med or whatever..? I know its far off from now, but I just wanted to do some research.

Thanks in advance. :]
