Well, I'm sure there are vets in the world who *do* push Rx foods for profit. There are unscrupulous vets in the world, just like w/ anything. Granted, not a lot is made off of selling food but the fact remains that they do indeed make some money by selling their own foods. These are companies who pandered to them during school, btw, too. And believe me, I've seen that pandering first hand from being in nursing school and seeing big pharma vendors who cultivate relationships w/ students (ie, med students/dentists). It's not exactly what I'd call an ethical relationship, at least not in my book.

That said, there is a necessary place for these Rx diets and I'm grateful we have them at the end of the day.

I looked up I think on chewy and a few other places that sell my dogs prescription food and the price was the same so I know my vets not making a killing on prescription food they also don't push it. Most vets are not crooked but I'm sure the ones that are do make lots of money on dog food but it's not the normal.
