Yes. It's always a good idea to test at a inconspicuous spot first. I did that before I set off to do the rest of carpet. I think the iron is involved b/c basically, this is something like "steam cleaning" your carpet. Except you're steam cleaning a specific spot with concentration(?). Does that make sense?...
