I just took him to a new groomer today that was praised online for dealing with difficult dogs, but she failed to tame the Toby cause she couldn't trim his face at all cause he turned into Cujo . and her version of a puppy cut isn't very smooth or yorkie like as I prefer... But he didn't come home all scratchy so that's a plus. Plus she only charged me for a wash and nail trim for them both since she failed to groom his face. |
Of course I can't say conclusively that the coconut oil and probiotics have made the difference since the antibiotic shot wore off earlier this year & the odor returned, but the only difference in his life are those two food additives that were begun shortly after the effects of the shot wore off. He was put on the Hexachlor-K-shampoo over a year or so ago when he had his first bad itching and a hot spot, some hair loss, pink skin - not mange-like but just hot-looking and not his normal color. He developed his yeast/bacterial skin infection while on that Hexachlor-K shampoo every 1-2 weeks but we kept it up throughout that period of infection though baths were increased to every 3 days and still he was stinking awfully bad by Day 3 until sometime a few weeks back.
I can't recall the last time I bathed him simply because it was Day 3 and he was smelling so bad or scratching too much. I can't help but think the difference-maker is one or both of those additives. He's like a different dog energy-wise and GI-wise, too, being a dog diagnosed with both MVD and IBS.
I sure hope Toby feels better soon and hopefully his troubles will go away pretty quickly.
