When our old German Shepherd Dog had to be put down due to systematic organ failure when I was a child, my parents called the vet, and he came to our house while I was at school and put the dog to sleep. I was heartbroken when I got home from school and found out what my parents had done, but it was the right thing to do, and yes, the vet did make a house call to do it.
