They got it on an xray, she snorted like a pig when she would go for walks as a baby then the beginning of last summer her breathing was something you could hear anytime she played or exercised, i ended up having to carry her for most walks, now if she gets excited, anxious or exercises she struggles to breathe, you can watch her whole stomach move in and out with each breath.it was so scary at first.

her little brother milo dosent understand they use to walk and play together all the time, they can play a bit but then she has to lay down and catch her breath. i have no idea why she has no cough or goose honk though.

her bowl is in a little holder off the ground a bit. i feel like where i live in a small town our vets around here do not have much experience on it, so ive been trying to educate myself. i saw a cool mist machine at walmart and was going to get it but i thought id ask here 1st, i already have a dehumidifier.

the vet put her on "collapsed trachea elixir" in december , we have to special order it from ontario, i can not find much information about it online, so ive been trying to understand what all these ingredients do, in it is: potassium iodide10mg, theopylline3mg, euphedrine0.83mg, phenobarbital0.4mg, ethanol 3.3%, isoproterenol 0.004mg, chicken syrup dose 0.1-o.2 ml/lb

she's able to now go outside for a walk to the end of the driveway and around the yard on it, but i have no clue of the long term effects of all those ingredients...

how long has your dog had collapsed trachea?has it gotten alot worse with age or does it stay the same? i want to try to give her a full life by managing it, the surgery sounds way too risky, the though of losing her is devastating. so i want to do everything possible to manage it and keep her comfortable.
