Four days ago, Stomper started cyring/barking all night long. He ususally goes to sleep at 8:30 PM and wakes up around 5:30 AM. For the last 4 days, he cries and barks all night. All night!
We couldn't handle it anymore since we both work and Stomper is in our bedroom in a crate. I can't believe how noisy that little guy can be!
Anyhow, after 4 nights and only about 15 hours of sleep, I called three vets and my trainer (also got advice from one Yorkie Talk member!). Most told me to ignore him (don't say anything at all) because it is a behavior problem and he is trying to get my attention. As you can imagine, it is so hard to do when you need to sleep.

FYI...we both wear ear plugs too...doesn't help at all.
Anyhow, since our house (hardwood floors - you hear everything!) is so small and we end up saying "NO" when we shouldn't say anything to him at all, we put him in the garage last night for the first time. Both the trainer and the vet said he needs to learn who is boss. If that means he needs to be alone in the garage to get the picture, you need to do it and be consistent.
I feel so so so sad.

It breaks my heart, but I also have to sleep. He didn't poop or pee in his crate, he was so happy to see me and acted like his regular self this morning. I just feel like a terrible person at the moment, but they told me I need to do it for at least a week before allowing him to come back into the house to sleep in the crate on our floor. If he still does it when he comes back in the house, they said to put him back out. Eventually he will learn
I hope the little guy learns quickly because it is breaking my heart! I have tears in my eyes right now. I don't know what else to do, but I feel like such a terrible mommy.
Has anyone who crates their yorkie ever experienced this behavior???
