When I spayed my girl the vet made me leave her overnight. I thought it was a bit odd but they also had someone on hand I case anything went wrong. It's one thing if they are their over night with someone monitoring them, but I don't get why they would want them overnight without supervision. I think you made the right choice. Even when you do find a vet you really like hold on to them. I moved 4 years ago and while I found a new vet I miss my old one, they were one in a million. I'm sure your girl will be in good hands and will heal up quickly.
