I believe you made the right choice. I have to have my dogs at the vet's between 8 - 9 in the morning, they do the surgery between 10 - 11 and call me afterwards to let me know how it goes. The office calls me usually between 1 - 2:30 to let me know my puppy is awake and how he/she is feeling and I usually pick them up around 5.

I think it is ridiculous to have to let your puppy somewhere overnight after being spayed/neutered if there are no complications, especially if no one is going to be there 24/7 to watch them and take care of them. They usually sleep the first 12 - 18 hours afterwards anyway.

Good luck with your old/new vet. I hope all goes well with your baby.
