have you tried benadyrl on him to see if that helps, if it does help it is not food related, you probably already know this. I give chester salmon oil on his wet food daily, and the temaril p when he really needs it, antihistamine and prednisone. I dont use any cleaners, plugs in or anything in the carpet. Chester has enviromential allergies and has sensitive skin. I also dont use dryer sheets and use no perfumes and dyes in my laundry soap as he sleeps with me. They tend to be a itchy breed, good luck
