I agree w/ you to an extent Cindy. I am definitely not well-off. I am paying tuition and loans, etc and I work only part time. When I bought Stewie, I figured out that [reputable] breeders don't take credit cards and vets do. I don't have money to go spend 2,000 on a dog right now, but make no mistake that I have an empty credit card w/ a 5k limit in case anything comes up w/ Stewie.
I also hate to see dogs given up because the owners don't take into account how much money it costs to buy the bare minimum to keep the dog healthy and alive.
