Yes and I have had 2 die in the last couple o years from cancer. Beyond hereditary/genetic factors (many if not all are not known - merely suspected), it is very tempting to believe that enivornment and food and medical decisions have some role to play.


At this point in time as owners our best defense I think is regular vet care, coupled with regular owner evaluations of their own dogs health status, palpating for lumps and other irregularities, a judicious enjoyment of our great outdoors. For example after walks and training all toys are washed, dogs are regularly bathed particularly their paws. Giving regular exercise ad insuring your dog is kept lean n trim. A species appropriate healthy diet.


The last is to keep up to date on your breed and the latest that research is telling us about this breed.......
