You could tape them for a day take it down if they aren't back up tape for another day and so on. YOu shouldn't mess with them anymore than you have to til they are up for good. I would suggest keeping them trimmed til they are up. There is one thing I don't understand though..if they were already up trimming them shouldn't of made them drop.
