Buttt now it's time They have begun showing the ware and will I ever find something these days made half as good. By the way we still have our receipt for the Maytag set we pd 839.00 for the set feb 18,1984. Yes I have washed for a family of 4 including bedspreads, blankets, heavy cotton towels you name it never a problem. I have looked at front loaders and heard they have mildew odors. As someone else shared some washers are so deep that if you don't have long arms and legs you really have to work to reach the bottom. Not to mention as you get older leaning over to pull heavy linens out. So I'm reading your responses and trying to pay attention because I have already gone shopping for a new set and really got so frustrated. All the info you guys learn and share will be very appreciated. As its time to give up the maytag and they are not even built the same quality. Considering the speed queens too. |
I know what you mean when your trying to find a replacement. It can be scary picking one and then finding it constantly breaks down or it stinks to high heaven. I do know one thing if and when I do buy a new set it will be through Sears. I only go through them because they offer the yearly renewing of their repair contract, no matter how long you want to keep buying it. On my current set I kept renewing mine for about 12 years, it gave me piece of mind. If just the circuit board went out it was going to be around $300-$400 to replace it.
