Well we have looked and studied washers and dryers as we are most difinitely needing replacements.Get ready for this ours 31 yrs and still running. Yes Maytag both heavy duty when We purchased them. My husband has worked on the dryer element once and we have had very good services all those years. Buttt now it's time They have begun showing the ware and will I ever find something these days made half as good. By the way we still have our receipt for the Maytag set we pd 839.00 for the set feb 18,1984. Yes I have washed for a family of 4 including bedspreads, blankets, heavy cotton towels you name it never a problem. I have looked at front loaders and heard they have mildew odors. As someone else shared some washers are so deep that if you don't have long arms and legs you really have to work to reach the bottom. Not to mention as you get older leaning over to pull heavy linens out. So I'm reading your responses and trying to pay attention because I have already gone shopping for a new set and really got so frustrated. All the info you guys learn and share will be very appreciated. As its time to give up the maytag and they are not even built the same quality. Considering the speed queens too. |
