I always research any major purchase for at least a year or two before I go buy one....I start with Consumer Report and then really drill down and get into researching the recommended product....Now, after almost 2-3 years of researching, I have cosen a washing machine and dryer that I think will be perfect for us! I had already decided on a top loader for the washer....I have talked to alot of people that have bought front loaders and they were not happy with them....seems among other complaints, there is an "odor" issue....and I just think it will be too difficult for me to stoop over and crawl inside a front loader to retrieve clothes. The brand that seems to keep rising to the top of the pack is LG....many, many positive reviews on the set I want....My selection is the LG 5.2 cu.ft. 14 cycle (WT5680HVA) and the matching dryer, DLEX5680V....they are now on sale until April 7th....this will be my birthday gift to me. Does anyone have this machine and how do you like it? Every appliance in my home is white....I am going to get wild and crazy and jump in on a graphite colored duo!!!

... You really realize you are old when a washing machine and dryer is such a HUGE deal!!!!
