It must vary by vet, then, because the vet I use will not vaccinate puppies until 8 weeks of age. I wouldn't consider it a terrible thing to take a dog home at 8 weeks old, either. I'd wait until at least 10 weeks, personally, for social development, but I wouldn't hold it against someone if they let a puppy go home at 8 weeks. | I'm not sure you really know what a reputable breeders is because a reputable breeder of small dogs will not let a pup go home before 12 weeks and if they do that's skipping a step which means they are skipping other very important steps.
