I grew up in the Middle East, and we had hedge hogs as pets the entire time we were there (caught wild in the desert.....they tame pretty quickly)....10 years! They are called "gumfas" over there, and they are OMG adorable!! I was going to bring the hedge hog that I had as a pet when we were leaving to come back Stateside....they WERE NOT ALLOWED IN THE USA at that time so I had to leave my pet with one of the other kids in the camp.....I am thrilled they are allowed here now and I have seriously considered getting one "for old times sake".....WONDERFUL MEMORIES!!!!!
