I, too, have two wonderful Yorkie mixes and adore them. Actually, my little girlie just went to her first Barn Hunt class last Tues and did nicely. Yes, I plan on getting my mix a title.

I do have purebred dogs for working, etc, but I am also happily owned and manipulated by some rather interesting mixes - Shoot, I'm a mix breed myself. So, there.

I do think insurance is an excellent idea, purebreed or mix.
