When I brought Emma Home, she was under 2 lbs, tiny, tiny. I did not like the food the breeder had her on so I did lots of research. Initially I was going to cook for her but realized I didn't know nutritionally what to give her, she's not a human. For safety sake I went to a holistic pet store and got some samples. She loved Stella & Chewys freeze dried raw dog food. It comes in medallions that you crumple up and reconstitute with a little warm water. She had her annual check up today and the vet says good and healthy!
I know there are lots of good choices out there ...get some samples and set up a buffet!
