Default Chaucer having tummy issues

End of November Chaucer started smacking his lips like he was thirsty. I do it all the time, so I didn't think too much of it - he has 3 water bowls throughout the apartment.

Finally, last week I took him to the vet to make sure he wasn't having some dental issues or anything. Vet said his teeth were fine, that he may have an upset stomach, to put him on probiotics and maybe try like 1/4 of a pecid. However, other than smacking his lips and burping, he was fine by the time we had actually arrived at the vet.

This week he's been having some soft stools (in the house ), and today he's just not been himself. He woke me up yesterday, very early because he had got down off the bed and needed help up (but had no accident), today he did the same thing, but had an accident on the bathroom floor.

I've made sure the guys downstairs are not going to give them anymore of their treats - and I'm making him some chicken and rice tonight.

I gave him pepto as soon as I got up with him, took him out and checked the mail - probiotics were in, so he got that and 1/4 of a 10 mg pecid. I do not remember the vet saying to give him more than 1/4 a day - doesn't anyone know.

I think he has acid reflux from what I've been reading, I'll call the vet on Monday to ask him about it, especially if Chaucer is still not himself.

Thanks!
