I haven't opened up my machine. Saw the sticker in a YouTube video of someone replacing the battery.
Found this in Apple's documentation for my Mackbook Pro:

"MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro computers with built-in batteries should only have their batteries replaced by an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store. Attempting to replace a built-in battery yourself could damage your equipment, and such damage is not covered by warranty."

The battery is charging fine. I'm not even sure that my problem is a "swollen" battery. It was just listed in the Apple forums as one potential cause of the tracking pad problems that I have.
