But in the best interest of Reese, I think we need to let her go. Selfishly I would LOVE to keep her...........but I don't know if it is the right thing to do. I thought I would have been able to " teach " the kids to be gentle with her, but I am not sure I can protect her enough. Do you know anyone who has had to give up thier furbaby due to not being the right family for the dog ? I am sorry to unload my feelings on you all, but I am not sure what to do.
Many years ago, when my now, 31 year old son, was a little guy, I was at the other end of the spectrum, and could not keep a German Shepard puppy, my sister had found abandoned, because my son was just too little. It broke my heart, because in the few months we had him, I became so attached!

So, I understand how hard this decision is for you. My puppy went to the absolute best home, where he was much loved his entire life.

I give you a lot of credit for considering what is best for Reese.

Today, my son is grown and married, and hubby is retired and we are owned by two wonderful Yorkies. So, when your kids are grown up, you could get a tiny Yorkie.

While your little ones are growing up, maybe you could consider a medium sized dog.

Good Luck in your decision.
