This sounds like my Teek when I attempted to brush his teeth. He lets us bathe him, trim nails, comb him, trim hair and put his topknot in. No problems. He is calm as can be. I can do anything to that little guy... except brush his teeth.
I think I have scars from it. My daughter and I do everything like that and I was holding him while she attempted to brush his teeth with a dog toothbrush and dog toothpaste. He apparently thought we were trying to kill him because he suddenly was fighting for his life and WOW did I get the worst of it. As soon as we were finished and I let him go he was totally cool again. I picked him up just a few minutes later and he was his normal loving self.
