Welcome! I am also new here.
I was literally handed a 9 year old Yorkie and took it home (better than it going to the pound) by some people I am acquaintances of. We have mutual friends and go to a lot of the same things in our community so they knew it would have a good home. He has been with me about 7 weeks now.
What I can suggest is to bring the dog in and do your routine you are going to have with it right from the start. Is it crate trained? Have a crate ready. My Teek loves blankets, pick up a bunch of baby blankets and a couple throw size as well. Mine sleeps on my bed and then he has his own throw blanket he is covered with. He has a dog bed as well that I put on the couch when I am home and into his crate when I have to leave him.
Mine is so spoiled that he had no trouble at all adjusting to life in my house. He was in a house where the people were gone all day and he was kept in a small space. I gave him access to the 2 main rooms I am in all day with me. When he had earned it, he got access to the rest of the main floor of the house (except bathrooms). He earned it within about a week because he only pee'd on the floor one time, the day after I brought him home and then pooped the first time I let my teenage daughter watch him and she was busy putting on make up and didn't hear him go to the door. LOL
I honestly believe that if you love her she will adjust quickly. It won't be perfect, but it can be great! Almost every dog I have ever had belonged to someone else. Socialize her well. I started taking Teek everywhere I went from the very minute I got him (although I didn't go a lot of places the first 3 days because I didn't need to) and he loves to go everywhere with me.
He settled in really fast, and he got very attached to me.
Good luck and I hope she adjusts quickly. I asked Teek today "Where have you been all my life?" His response was to snuggle against me closer, I think he feels the same way. I hope you feel the same way in 2 months.
