I can't answer that yet cause I haven't bought one yet but I was just discussing this with the DH. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. Sh'e always looking for a new flavor to try. In researching these I found out Keurig didn't like it that people weren't buying their pods so when they came out with the newer 2.0 models it's designed to only use their little pods. If you try to use a pod by some other manufacturer it won't work in the machine.
Someone found a way to bypass this, this is the video for anyone wanting to stop buying their pods....

This is a generic cup to put your own coffee in so you can make it as weak or strong as you want. I'm not sure if you'll have to attach an old lid from a Keurig pod for it to work.

I'm thinking of getting the 145 model so I won't have this problem.
