I fed it to my girls as usual and within two day all three were vomiting and had diarrhea. I really didn't know what was wrong, not associating the new bag of food I had just bought days before. I took the sickest girl to the vet and he told me that she had kidney failure and had to stay at the hospital for a few days to receive fluids. When I came home from the vet I called Royal Canin and asked if they had changed their formula. The girl I talked to was named Sherri and she told me yes they did change the formula and that YES my little Yorkies stomachs may not be able to handle the change. She sent me the list of ingredients. I then called and talked to the vet at Royal Canin who then denied what Sherri told me, she said there shouldn't be any problems with the new formula... HA
I lost my Belle in December, she never fully recovered from her "poisoning' as I call it. I contacted the FDA. who took all my info but never asked for the bag to inspect the food. I am sickened by what happened to my poor dogs. Thank God my other two are ok now and I have switched foods and also give them chicken. I loved Royal Canin.. I bragged to everyone about this food. BUT to change the formula and not put it on their package to let you know that it has been changed it WRONG. The "lovely" person at Royal Canin told me that I should never give my dogs a new bag of food without mixing the old bag of food in with it.. what??? I HATE Royal Canin, and hopefully a class action law suit will happen to them also... |
I am sure if more than one or two people have their pets dying from Royal Canin, and it is PROVEN that the dog food was responsible for all the death/illness, then the will be a class action lawsuit brought against them. I know a while back, there were two breeders that were blaming RC breeding formula for the deaths of their puppies, a LARGE number of puppies. After thorough investigation of the breeding facilities and the bags of food they were using, the problem was caused from the mold that grew on the dogfood, which occured AT the facility, because it was stored improperly, and subjected to moisture levels that were unacceptable. The lot numbers from the bags of the "offending dog food" were pulled, and hundreds of other bags were systematically checked and there was no issues with any other bags of the dog food, nor were there any other breeders that came forward.
If you can find hundreds more people that have
proven their dogs died from the changes made in RC (which was a shift in % of nutrient ingredients and not the introduction of totally DIFFERENT ingredients) you will see a class action law suit. I am sorry about the loss of your dog and the illness of the others....did you have an autopsy done at a vet school ? That would be a substantial first step in PROVING it was the change in the dog food that caused the issue.
