Thank you for the advise. We do not have a doggie door. Our property is fully secured and only accessible through one sliding gate. When the gate is opened, my lil boy gets 'locked up' in the house until the gate auto closes. Not realising the gate hadn't closed properly, Kinoh was let out and when I realised that the gate was not closed, I ran after him but this speedy boy was no match for me with a head start. Kinoh is fully supervised as we have live in help but still.....

If a doggie door is absolutely required for some desperate reason, I would strongly suggest it lead out to an enclosed, covered patio or a sun room or a garage....someplace where any number of predators can not get to the pup.....snakes, raptors, poisonous toads, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, possums, bats, human theives, etc, just to name a few!!!
