I think the play pen idea is good so that she can get out of the kennel if she needs to potty. Wishing you luck , thank goodness you rescued her as it sounds as if she was in a horrible situation . It will take time to retrain her in to not pot tying in her kennel but I'm sure with patience you will get there .
