The males go first in the ring and usually judges point the males instead of the females. I was told that due to the politics in the ring that unless you have a handler that's well known & liked handle your dog that ONLY handles females, your female won't win. If the handler handles males & females, you'd be hard pressed to find a judge that will point the female instead of the male That's one of the reasons I was advised to start with a show male instead of a female, that and males can be bred hundreds of times after he get's his ch. and a female is usually only bred 3-4 times after she finishes...
