Maybe just weak nails genetically. I, personally, have horrible nails. They are thin and break, tear easily. I've tried taking biotin for months on end, with no improvement. The only time I have nice looking nails is when I have fake acrylic applied, which I now only bother with at major events..close friends wedding, etc. maybe dogs are the same? Maybe some are more prone to breakage than others?
