We as a society, have got to realize that when we no longer love and care for our seniors, our most vulnerable, because they are no longer productive or because they require more of our time, more of our patience, more of our protection, more of our understanding, the basic moral fiber of our country will unravel and we will completely dry rot and fall apart.

Our young are vulnerable and should be cared for, but you dont miss what you have no memory of.....but our SENIORS.....they have memories....they know their limitations.....they mourn the loss of their vitality and their productivity, and they see and understand the effects they have on our society. We must let our seniors know they are loved, they are still valued for all they have contributed, for all they have taught us, for all the memories they have woven into the fabric of our society and each family. We must, as a moral, ethical, responsible society, be care givers to our seniors...they have gotten us to where we are this very day.

This includes ALL seniors, especially our pets that do not have the ability to understand what is happening to them. To abandon a senior that has devoted their life to a family, doing their very best to be loyal and devoted and living their life to do nothing more than please that family, to leave a senior pet and separate them from all they have lived for their entire life, is in MY mind, beyond cruel, beyond animal abuse. It just breaks my heart. That poor little soul.....completely unfamiliar sights, blurred by age....completely unfamiliar sounds, muffled by age.....and his loving family now gone.....he is left wondering where he is, who he is with, where his family has gone....he is confused and fearful. People please dont throw away your seniors...they do not deserve that.
Judy you ripped my heart out with this, but it is so true, I loved my little girl so deeply as she got older, was blind and deaf, she would get stuck under the kitchen table and was unable to find her way out, I finally removed all but one chair, sometimes she would get herself stuck in a corner, was confused and couldn't get out, my love for her grew even deeper, I know what it's like to have a 16 / 17 y/o nearly totally blind and deaf, why I am so sickened that these ppl can just toss this poor little soul away like this.
