16 year old deaf/ blind dumped at LA From pet connect.us: "YESTERDAY A COUPLE WENT TO LANCASTER SHELTER (CA) TO ADOPT A SENIOR DOG (which they did and they love her already). WHILE THERE THEY SAW COCO, 16 YEARS OLD, GOING BLIND & DEAF, BEING DUMPED BEAUSE HER FAMILY IS MOVING. The couple tried to take Coco from the people surrendering him but the shelter wouldn't let them. Here's what I was told by one of the people who witnessed Coco's surrender, "He was really mellow. The woman was holding him and he was doing nothing. Not squirming or anything. I know he is said to be blind, but he still had a look of confusion on his face. He did not make a sound though. Even when the woman handed him over to the officer. The officer took Coco out of the office and a bit later I saw another person carry him past the window probably heading to a kennel. He looked just the same. Dazed and actually almost lifeless." Coco's photo kills me...absolutely breaks my heart. Coco deserves better than to spend whatever time he has left in a place as scary and cold as Lancaster Shelter."
Anyone live near here that can help?
