Well as he was already peeing and or marking outside the bathroom door - if I understood your post correctly; then you really need to use an enzymatic cleanser on those areas; one which removes the smell of urine or of marking.


The cone could definitely be throwing him off, and hopefully 7days past surgery you can remove that cone. When is your recall appointment with the vet?


If after 14 days - this being the cone is off for seven days, and you regularly keep to his walk and pee schedule outside, and he is peeing in the house, you might have to go back to puppy housebreaking 101.
