For changing foods in new puppies, it's usually suggested to wait a good 2-3 weeks so they can settle. Then maybe just add a bit of the new kibble to the old, like perhaps 10% or whatnot, then wait a few days before continuing to add a bit more and so on.
I feed frozen pre-made raw and have for about 7 years now - I feed either Primal or Natures Variety. If you're looking for kibble suggestions, I think some good ones are Natures Logic, Solid Gold Barking At The Moon, Solid Gold Wee Bits (a small kibble, which is nice!), Natures Variety, Acana, Wellness CORE... |
Thank you and btw-your Wylie is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!
I noticed someone else mentioning I should wait months but I'm not crazy about the food he's on at the moment and would love to (gradually as recommended) change it!
I will def look in to Primal or Natures Variety. Luckily I life right next to a city that's very health oriented and have boutiques for pups that should sell both!
I LOVE this site but SOOOO much info that it can be a little overwhelming!
I know the basics for a puppy such as crating, puppy proofing, poisonous plants & foods, etc but I'm new to Yorkies. Could you suggest any bored related threads that are good for a new Yorkie mommy?
I'm also currently looking for a solid vet that has had lots of experience with small breeds, esp Yorkies. * I live in the greater Boston area!*
