Doesn't look like the ideal eating arrangement to me either...I know your trying to demonstrate the issue here but it looks terrible! I want to scold the husband!
Routine, a routine eating schedule and place to eat. Set up a place in the kitchen or elsewhere where your pup will always find water and eat. I would sit alone with your pup in the away from everything area and hand feed for a few weeks, gradually moving it back to the bowl and leaving the dog the peace and privacy he needs/deserves/wants while he eats.
