Default Just got a 9-month old female and we need help!

Hello! I am new to YT. We brought Ginger home two and a half weeks ago. She is now 9 months and NOT POTTY TRAINIED. I was told that she was used to using potty pads or going outside in a covered run. So we set up an expen on our porch and put potty pads there.

I was treating her like a young puppy at first and took her out every 20 minutes. It became obvious real fast that she could hold it much longer than that. We are keeping a journal and it seems that she goes about every 1.5 to 2 hours on her pad outside. The problem is, she goes inside the house frequently...one or twice most days, and that is with four people watching her like a hawk. We have blocked off her space so she is just in the dining room or the kitchen (both rooms have wood floors). We have removed most of the area rugs. But inevitably, we do something like bring her into the bathroom or bedroom while we are getting ready, thinking she just went potty so it should be fine for just a couple minutes, and she goes potty on the carpet, floor mats, or clothes laying on the ground.

We don't scold of punish her when she has an accident. And we give her treats and lots of praise when she goes in the right spot.

I am getting worried....I know that people say Yorkies are often hard to potty train....but I am concerned that by getting a teenager that didn't have good habits in place, we will NEVER have a potty trained dog.

Is it too late to train a 9 month old yorkie? What should we do? Our lives have been completely centered around this little dog since brining her home. And while we love her to death, we want to enjoy her, relax, and not worry about her every second.

Thanks for any advice you can give me!
