As for the other discussion on this thread about physical therapy, I can only speak to my experiences. First of all, I have never done PT with any of my pups that had knee surgery or even hip surgery unless there was some other reason for it. I had one that had multiple issues and the surgery done on his leg required extensive PT. The pups who had FHO surgery and CCL repairs recovered well and there was no need for PT at all. I followed the surgeons instructions and had no problems.

I have done PT with quite a few for other reasons. Never has there been a reason for a life vest. The PT I use has an underwater treadmill ... so clearly with one of them, the water is not high. The pups' feet must be on the treadmill so the water is only up to their tummies. They do have a leash on and they walk on the treadmill.
