My 7 month old 4 lb Yorkie/Bichon mix will bark in the middle of the night to let us know he has to go out. When we take him out most of the time he goes. The issue is when he is in the house ( always watching him) if he has to go he just stops and goes. No warning, no barking just goes. How do we stop this . We tried a small office desk hotel bell but he seemed frightened of it. A bell on the door wont work since we usually have him confined to whatever room we are in and there is not necessarily a door available to put it on. When in crate during the day while we are not home he tears up the pee pad. I am not sure If he has accidents since it so small ( #1 that it is) no accidents of the other kind have happened in the crate.
