Although some tearing is normal if it is excessive enough to cause raw open wound on your babies skin I would say that is above normal peramiters! We use a face wash regularly and currently we trim the eye area/mustache hair that gets too goopy (we have grown out before and I like that but we aren't grown out right now). Inbetween face washes we use a soft rag with warm water to keep clean. I know you mentioned wanting to keep the hair to allow a wicking agent for moisture an although that makes sense to me, I think you would hve more long term success clipping the hairs and gently cleaning face throughout the day. If you have raw open sores you may see if your vet would reccomend the ophthalmic antibiotic Terramycin to clear up the wounds. You mentioned wanting to use natural methods and although I very much support natural methods if it has 'gone too far' sometimes we need to rely on the modem medicine we are blessed to have to get back to a safe healthy platform ad work from there using natural, holistic and preventative methods to maintain a healthy state. Good luck with your pup, glad he has you on his side looking out for him
