I'm not sure that he will stop w/o band intervention, will he? He is so anxiety ridden with the leash, though. I'm not sure his mind can sustain the traumatic effects of it for 8 weeks which is the recommended time for his tethering.

There are many options. If he is marking only and not peeing a lot, T Bumpkins & Co makes awesome belly bands with washable liners.

If he is peeing a lot then I recommend belly bands where you put incontinence pads in (you buy them and cut them to size). Note that feminine hygeine pads do not work. For some really nice looking belly bands, here is a facebook link ... all of the money from those belly bands goes to Yorkie Haven Rescue...the belly bands are really nice and satin lined.
