But all those times were better than the time the bus tried going up the hill, only to start sliding down backwards, and then sideways. That was scary! They made everyone get off the bus, halfway up the hill and walk. So many weren't dressed for the weather. A bunch if us huddled in the fish & chippy, as the owner was kind enough to let people use his phone to call for a ride. We all still had to walk up the hill, but at least we had rides waiting or us by the time we got to the top. Funniest part was there was a shop just a few up from the chippy that had plastic sledges in the window. Most of us went in and bought one. Loaded our shopping on the sledge and pulled it up the hill...about 15-20 of us all pulling sledges filled with shopping! Ahhh the memories
