I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I do not understand these places - giving up a dog so quickly!
This reminds me of a similar story posted on YT of a gal stuck in traffic trying to get to her dog out in California - and they gave her dog away - wonder what happened with that case.
All I can say is these laws need to be changed! Three days is nothing - I don't know what the law is here where I live, but these type of posts make me want to find out and lobby for the longest possible length.
Thank you for rescuing another baby in your time of hurt. It sounds like she has found a loving home. I know she can't fill that empty place in your heart for your other baby
