What I heard was a couple of the major movie theater chains were dropping the movie already because of the threat. Sony simply pulled it before the other theaters followed suit.

I don't see it as Sony caving in to the threat. The threat took away the market, the theaters, the money! Sony's decision to pull it was strictly a financial decision.

I wasn't going to see it. Still no interest, but, there are lots of people who would have enjoyed it and these pond scum internet N Korean hackers took that away from them.
