Your Dyson broke and clogged?! I have a Dyson Animal also. I am notorious for cloggin vacuums. I can't be bothered to pick up items large enough to pick up, or take out the hair that gets tangled around the brushes. The Dyson has never clogged on me. Plus the can is easy to take out and empty, and all the pieces click together and fit very nicely.
