I am so saddened by this story. Kitties are quite easy to make sick or worse. Regardless of whether the product sprayed on the tree contained ethylene glycol, 'regular' antifreeze that tastes sweet and is known to kill dogs, or propylene glycol, the 'safe' antifreeze now put in human and canine food...to retain moisture, as I understand it, kitties cannot tolerate either chemical. I have had many kitties, so have not put up a tree in many years...too much of a career change picking up baubles every day...LOL. However, and not 'blaming' anyone for this tragic accident, but I most definitely do not trust most 'pet safe' explanations either.

My condolences to the kitty's owner...RIP sweet baby kitty.
