ZoE had a bad bout of gastroenteritis last year with vomiting and bloody diarrhea. I couldn't believe how quickly she went downhill. I took her to the emergency vet late at night because I was terrified I'd wake to a dead dog if I waited until the morning for her vet to open. Even after treatment at the ER she still needed IV fluids at the follow up appt the next day with her vet.

With that experience in mind, when her vet says to withhold food for 24 hours and let her stomach settle, I'm doing it! It's just difficult because she doesn't understand why she's not being fed & treated as usual, she just thinks shes being punished and gives me a sad look with those eyes.

Im happy to report that Zo had a tiny meal at 7am and kept it down, so received another tiny meal around noon, and now she'll be getting dinner in a few minutes!
