He made a good point that as pet owners we pet proof our home 11 months of the year - and then the Holiday Season arrives. New smells and new *things* abound our living rooms windows and doors - no wonder our pets get so interested and excited at this time of year.


This was certainly a wake up call for me. You can get complacent with older dogs that are well behaved... So now even if I run up to the store on a quick errand - everyone is crated. Or use a room that has remained pet proof :-)
