Thanks, that's one I was thinking of trying.

I am in the process of letting Ruby's hair grow out, she's normally in a modified schnauzer cut but I have decided to let it go long. She's a cotton coat and ever since this summer I've been using dawn dish soap to battle fleas and now her hair is so very DRY. I am in need of something I can use in between bathes that wont get too greasy, gunky or have a bad smell when it dries. I want her hair to flow in the wind and look healthy. It also has to be something that both myself and my DH can handle when it comes to smells. We have Very Sensitive sinuses that just the slightest thing will give us sinus headaches. So smell is a huge factor. Scentless food scent something with no perfume would be the best option for our household.
It's nice to see someone else with the same issue, people frequently think it's ridiculous.
I'm still looking for something for between baths, but the coconut oil treatment and ion conditioner used in the bath and mixed with water to make a spray are helping.
Be warned, if you use coconut oil it is strong smelling, but it doesn't bother me. I'm usually ok with food smells. The ion conditioner I use doesn't have much of a scent.

I don't understand why they make dog products so strong smelling, I've never had a stinky dog. They may smell a little when they're really hot, but it's not a bad smell.
I used to have to rebath my poodle when she got back from the groomers, she'd smell like they dumped a bottle of nasty powdery floral perfume on her.
