My Teddy was the same exact way when I brought him home and for months thereafter.


I think these dogs are very intelligent so they show affection differently than big dogs. They may not slobber all over you and jump on you but they do LOVE you. This is shown by the way they shadow your movements in the house, lift their heads when you make a move towards walking out of the room, allow you to pet them, etc.


My Teddy also greets family members more excitedly than he does me but that is probably because he is used to me (probably takes me for granted!) and they are a novel experience which causes excitement.


Does that make sense? You're not alone in wondering about it, I did the same exact thing. Having my dog for almost a year now (Dec 28) has shown me the error of my ways!
